Schrade Pocket KnifeSchrade pocket knives are manufactured today to the same quality standards as when George Schrade first patented the automatic opening, switchblade, knife in the late 1880s.

As founder of the Schrade Knife Company, with his brothers Joe and William, George Schrade would continue to invent machines that would improve the quality of his pocket knives. His inventions included the neck drawing machine, the heating machine, sharpeners, saws on center, bone jigger, bolster and automatic shielding machines. The Schrade Knife Company would produce some of the best, highest quality knives of their time.

Today, the Schrade brand of knives are manufactured by Taylor Brands, LLC, following the same standards for quality.

Every Schrade Folding Knife is still assembled using up to 22 separate parts, which require up to 120 hand operations, including 100% hand finished edges for all knife blades.

Although the name of the company has changed, all Schrade pocket knivesare still manufactured to the same high quality standards that George Schrade insisted upon when he first started manufacturing knives in 1904.
